FAQ

What is Strength and Conditioning?

Conditioningthe bodies ability to work easily and/or with lessened stress while performing a chosen activity. Example: When you learn to do something new it can often be difficult and uncomfortable, but the more you persist at it the easier it becomes, until it is a task that can be carried out with ease or almost instinctively

Strength Training; a method of improving muscular strength by gradually increasing the ability to resist force through the use of free weights, machines, or the person’s own body weight. Strength training sessions are designed to impose increasingly greater resistance, which in turn stimulates development of muscle strength to meet the added demand.

GOOD S&C ALLOWS US TO TRAIN LONGER, MORE EFFECTIVELY AND SAFELY PUSH OUR LIMITS FURTHER.

What is a PAR-Q and why is it mandatory?

A PAR-Q is short for Physical Activity Readiness Questionaire. This is a list of questions that your trainer needs to safely and effectively assess your level of fitness and any risk factors that may be present in your health history or lifestyle. In order for you to gain the results you want we need for your training to be safe – the PAR-Q is the industry standard to assess this. Please answer all questions as honestly as you can – our specialized staff can adapt any routine to fit your needs so that you can safely complete our programs.

What exactly is Bootcamp? What will I do there?

Bootcamps put together an exciting variety of exercise for you away from the gym. While the benefits of the gym are many, it is easy to get bored. Bootcamp offers a break to that. Each session is different and you never know what to expect. The camp is a specialized program which is a mix of cardiovascular and strength training moves which have been designed to provide maximum results. Bootcamp is FUN. It’s a unique experience designed to get you started or break you out of a fitness rut. What it provides which the gym doesn’t is a structured schedule with accountability which can help keep you on track. It also provides a sense of commarodary and motiviation as you will be working with a group of people for eight weeks who will share in your successes and you will share in theirs. All of the exercises used in our bootcamps can be easily modified from beginner to advanced which is what allows us to have varying levels of ability in our camps. Still not convinced?
